Customer Segmentation

On ACP, you can create customer segments based on past user transactions and create basic personalized journeys for them. These personalisations involve creating promotions that only a certain segment of users can avail or showing user group based prices on the Storefront.

Creating a customer segment is a two step process on ACP platform, which includes:

  • Creating user groups: Checkout documentation on How to create a New user group to create one.
  • Creating customer segmentation rules to add users to the user groups

Creating Customer Segmentation Rules

  • Navigate to Customers > Customer Segmentation.
  • You will find an existing list of segmentation rules here. You can edit or delete any of these.
  • You will also find an option named Job History, under which you can Run any created rule and check the initiated date & time and the finished date & time.

To create a new rule click on Create Segmentation Rules. You will find three sections here, namely:

  • Rule Information - It consists of
  • Rule Title - Give a title to the rule.
  • Description - Give a brief description of the rule.
  • Is Active - Select the active status of the rule as yes or no.
  • User List Updation Type - Select Overwrite existing list if you want to replace it with another rule or select Add to existing list if you want to add a new rule to the existing list.
Then, click on Save and Next to move further to Conditions.
  • Conditions - It consists of three kinds of conditions named
  • Registered Parameters - Using this you can create rules on the basis of registration date. For example, all those users who registered with brand in last one month.
  • Login Parameters - Using this, you can create rules based on last login date of users.
  • Purchase Parameters -Using this, you can create rules based on the transaction history of the users.
  • Abandoned cart parameters
  • Wishlist parameters
Using these parameters create the segmentation condition and click on Save and Next to move further to Actions.
  • Actions - Choose one of the two Action Conditions named
  • Add customer to User Group
  • Add customer to Mailing List

Select any one of these as required and click on Save. Your rule is created.

Note that, for now you have to manually run these rules whenever required and they aren’t automated in nature.
