Manage Product Tags

The keywords or labels of any website are usually known as tags. These tags can be associated with the products and are used for classification and filtration of the products. All the products that are related to a Global tag are available at all locations. On the other hand, the products that are related to a Local tag are available only at the mapped locations.

To make the necessary changes, you will need to:

  • Login to ACP
  • Navigate to Products
  • Click on Masters
  • Click on Product Tags

When you click on Product Tags, a new page will appear. It will have a list of existing tags with their description, tag type and association location.

You can also attempt actions like view, filter, edit, or delete when you open the existing tags list. You can also add a new tag by clicking on Add New Tag. The details of selected tags can be downloaded in an Excel spreadsheet format. Other features that can be used here are:

  • Mapping of new products against the required tags.
  • Updating the unique rank to each product within every location.

Product Tags

To check out a tag individually, you can click on any existing tag or make changes to it. When you click on any tag, its details like Product Tag Name, Type of Tag, and Creation Date will be displayed. You can also filter the list by clicking on With products, or Without Products. The products associated with it will also be displayed in a form of list.

  • You can download its excel format by clicking on Download.
  • You can upload new ranks by clicking on Upload New Ranks.
  • You can also map new products.

After making required changes, go back to the main product tags page. Here, you can upload ranks of products by clicking on Upload Ranks on the top right corner of the list. To download the excel format of all the tags, click on Download and to add a new tag click on Add New Tag.

Upload Ranks
Here, you can add/update the product tags against the required products and locations. You can perform different tasks here, such as:

  • Download excel format
  • Update the data
  • Upload the data

Note: The rank should be unique against each location.

You can browse the required file, then click on upload to upload it. You can also go through the task history given below.
Add New Tag
When you click on Add New Tag, a box will appear. Fill in the Tag name in the given space and fill in the Tag description as well. Click on Add and the Product Tag will be created.

What Does Product Ranking Do?
The product ranking defines the order of display of the products when the products are showcased by the product tags. In the case of local tags, the removal of the location ref. code causes the removal of the product association from the tag against the respective location. Whereas, if you add a location ref code to a global tag, the respective tag will become a local tag for the product in the respective location.

Bulk Variant Properties

A Variant (or Variant property) is a specific feature/property used for classification of a product. For example, the 'Size' of a Shirt is a Variant and its Variant values may be 40, 42 and 44. You can add new variants or edit/delete existing variants from here. You can also add, edit or delete variant values for the required variants by clicking the 'Variant Property Name.’ ‘Bulk variant Upload’ feature enables you to modify existing or add new variants/variant values. You can check the upload status and view the logs for failed uploads, so that you can rectify the errors.

To manage variant properties, you will need to:

  • Login to ACP
  • Navigate to Products
  • Click on Masters
  • Click on Bulk Variant Properties

Here you will find a list of existing properties with their no. of columns, variant property type, rank and action. The action being Delete. You can click on any property name to open its details. You can click on Delete to delete any existing property.

Properties

When you click on any property, a new page will open. It will show you Variant Property Details and Variant Values.

Variant Property Details
Here, you will find details like:

  • Variant Property Name
  • Variant Property Type
  • No. Of Columns
  • Rank
  • Display Swatch
  • Swatch Image Source
  • Description

You can also edit these details by clicking on Edit.

Variant Values

Here, you will find a list of variant values with their images (if any), mapped categories, rank and actions. You can edit any variant value by clicking on Edit under Actions. You can also Delete the variant by clicking on delete under Actions.

To add a new value, you can click on Add New Value given at the bottom right corner of the screen. When you do so, a new page will appear. Here, you can add new or edit existing Variant Value. The variant value can be numerals to alphabets as per the election of variant property type. Rank represents the order of appearance of the variant value in the storefront. For example - In Refine Search Control. You can associate the variant value to required Product Categories, which will be useful in creating byproduct variants for the products of those categories.

  • Variant Property Name
  • Variant Value
  • Rank
  • Image Name
  • Description
  • Category

Click on Save and the changes will be saved.

Come back to the main Manage Variant Properties. From here, you can also download the Language Excel Sheet by clicking on Download Language Excel. The Language sheet will show the list of all the languages used in different countries. It will provide the variant of its specified language automatically. You can go through its data by clicking on Download.
