Product Attribute Mapping - Easier and Faster

Product Attributes are the specifications of a product in your shop, such as color, size, fabric, etc. Attributes help customers filter the products they want without having to search the entire store.

Problem Faced

The Bulk Tools > Product Attribute Download & Upload interface allows you to assign 'Attribute Values' in bulk quantity to multiple products/SKUs through an Excel file. Previously, to pull the data for every single category, users had to put in redundant work and a lot of vlookup at category level.

These extra steps were required because of the complex format accepted by the system. It also increased the chances of error creeping into the data.

Solution

To overcome the above problems and reduce the time and effort taken to complete this activity, we have moved from excel to CSV format for the file upload on our platform. We have also changed the way we input our data now.

Now, instead of making separate category sheets for each item, you can update the attribute values for the whole product catalog in one place. In this way, you would avoid lots of extra work and lesser excel operations which in turn saves the time; more importantly, there won't be duplication errors with a cleaner output.
