Price Drop Alert for Abandoned Cart

There are multiple ways to draw shoppers and prompt them to visit your e-commerce store to make purchases. But there are many problems e-commerce businesses face with shoppers not going ahead with the actual purchase. The cart abandonment issue is one of them.

Research from Baymard Institute indicates that 69.82% of online shoppers do not complete the purchase. Most shoppers abandon their carts for various reasons, like mandatory account creation, long checkout process, no discount or promos, higher shipping costs, or they might simply close that webpage.

Many e-commerce stores offer coupon codes, incentives like free delivery, etc., to bring back shoppers, but sometimes they need to be more. Hence, Price Drop Alert is an excellent tactic for these issues.

ACP platform has now introduced the PriceDropAlert Setting to bring back the users and complete the purchase.

Whenever there is a change in prices of any of the products (due to change in prices, activation of a price list or a catalog promotion) - all the abandoned carts should be checked for potential changes in prices & the mail should get triggered.

Note that, typically these prices would change via APIs during night or promotions may start at mid-night - which will reduce the likelihood of these mails getting opened. Users should be able to configure at what time of the day should these mails get triggered (time should be brand country specific) and all the price changes made during the last 24 hours should be considered.

For an abandoned cart, this mail should be triggered just once.
